...HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS EXPECTED WITH WIDESPREAD BLACK ICE
.Although the wintry precipitation has ended across the region,
many secondary roads remain snow and ice covered, especially
across western North Carolina. Temperatures will fall below
freezing overnight, and then remain below freezing until mid-
morning to noon on Tuesday. This will allow most secondary and
untreated roadways to re-freeze, leading to widespread black ice.
Conditions will improve Tuesday as temperatures climb back above
freezing. More problems will develop Tuesday night as temperatures
are forecast to fall below freezing again.
