Our guides have participated in a rigorous certification program offered by our parent company, Experience Based Learning, Inc. (EBL). EBL brings years of research and expertise to each project and was the first company to install tours in the United States. They wrote the standards for the industry which later became acknowledged and endorsed by the Professional Ropes Course Association (PRCA), and the PRCA is an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Accredited Standards Developer for the industry.

Further, EBL has undergone a successful peer review process by the PRCA and became an Accredited Vendor, the first and only vendor from any association to receive this level of industry credential for canopy and zip line tours. What is a zip line tour?

Canopy Tours (a.k.a. Zip Line Tours) have been present in the United States since 2002. This growing adventure experience became popular in Costa Rica during the mid to late 1990's after enjoying widespread popularity as single zip lines on ropes challenge course in the United States since the mid 1960's. After the popular movie Medicine Man staring Sean Connery hit movie theaters in 1992, the concept of exploring the canopy of the tree tops utilizing climbing ropes, harnesses, and pulleys sparked the interest of adventure travelers around the world. Today, this growing ecology based adventure travel industry is bursting at the seams as more and more tours pop up. Experience Based Learning, (EBL) is proud to have played a predominate role in the expansion of canopy / zip line tours in the United States since the first installed Maui Hawaii course in 2002.
